Case Manager - Domestic & Family Violence Specialist

About THE ROLE

The Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) Specialist Case Manager provides specialist, high-level knowledge and skills for WAGEC clients who are experiencing domestic and family violence, and who are supported through our Domestic Violence Rapid Response (DVRE), Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and/or other WAGEC programs.  

This is a full-time permanent role. 

The core responsibilities of this role are:

  • Deliver crisis response and case management for WAGEC clients via telephone, at WAGEC sites or via outreach services  
  • Conduct risks and needs assessments, safety planning and provide specialist advice to clients  
  • Assist team support and development by sharing knowledge, helping to set outcomes and acting in supervisory roles as required
  • Provide occasional after-hours On-Call duties as part of a rotating roster
  • Work collaboratively to support team operations and contribute to team goals
  • Proactively and positively contribute to WAGEC’s culture and impact.

ABOUT YOU

  • You’re an experienced case manager with a minimum of 3 years case management and/or client work in a domestic violence service  
  • You have excellent time management skills and are able to work within fast and timely perimeters (typical case management for this role requires a 1 week turnaround)
  • You have a high level of understanding of working with women and children who are experiencing family violence, homelessness and other complex needs
  • You are resilient, and have the demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure when supporting clients with complex needs
  • You are skilled in risk management, safety planning and in advocating for client-focused outcomes
  • You work from a trauma-informed, client-centred, strengths-based approach
  • You are a supportive, team-player who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping to develop other workers and studentsSupervisory experience is not essential, but would be highly desirable
  • You’ll have Social Work, Psychology or Community Services qualifications, or similar, or commensurate experience and are committed to continuous learning.
