Case Manager - SHS services

The role
WAGECs Case Managers work collaboratively with women, children and families in our Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and other WAGEC programs. Case managers provide trauma-informed, strengths based and client centered case management with the aim of improving client’s safety, self-sufficiency, and healing. Case Managers are co-located at sites with clients in refuges or at our drop-in service at Redfern.
The core responsibilities of the role are
- Deliver case management to achieve client outcomes
- Maintain personal, professional and program effectiveness
- Program administration
- Contribute to WAGEC’s organisational culture
About you
EXPERIENCE
- Have experience working with women and children escaping domestic and family violence, homelessness and other related complex needs.
- Have experience negotiating and advocating with relevant government systems including housing, immigration, child protection, mental health, AOD, Centrelink etc.
- Experience working in a Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) including crisis accommodation, transitional housing, drop-in and/or outreach environments, domestic and family violence support; and applied knowledge of CIMS client database is considered favourably.
KNOWLEDGE
- Trauma-informed, client-centred, strengths-based case management
- NSW and government service systems
- Intersectional feminist analysis of homelessness, disadvantage, and gender-based violence.
EDUCATION
- Have qualifications and/or equivalent experience in the areas of youth work, social work, education, psychology, community services or other relevant fields.
OTHER CERTIFICATIONS
- Working with Children Check
- NSW Drivers licence
- Criminal record check clearance. Having a criminal record does not automatically exclude
