Case Manager - Staying Home Leaving Violence

The role

The Case Manager - SHLV provides case management and case coordination services, working with women and children who are referred into the SHLV program. 

The role provides a range of support, such as safety planning, improving home security, and support for children. This is a predominately community-based role requiring attendance at safety action meetings, conducting regular home visits, completing safety audits, and supporting women through legal proceedings. 

The Case Manager - SHLV will help to facilitate community-based education around Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) by working closely with community partners and stakeholders. The role collaborates with NSW Police regarding safety matters, such as Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs). 

The role will require travel and flexible working arrangements between community outreach, WAGEC's Burwood sites, and work from home. 

The core responsibilities of the role are

  • Deliver case management to achieve client outcomes 
  • Leadership and program development 
  • Undertake professional duties in line with program requirements 
  • Contribute to WAGEC’s organisational culture 

About you

  • Have 3-5 years demonstrated experience providing evidence-based services for women and children that are experiencing DFV, and/or other complex needs relating to housing, immigration, child protection, mental health, alcohol or other drugs (AOD), economic insecurity etc. 
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking risk assessments and implementing safe pathways 
  • Experienced in engaging with local partners, key stakeholders across different levels and sectors to improve client outcomes 
  • Experience working in community-based environments, such as outreach or community engagement 
  • Solid experience in case management and case coordination 
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse communities
