About the role

This is an exciting new role, focusing on grant writing and submissions, internal and external stakeholder relations, and identifying new opportunities for WAGEC. The role will produce high-quality submissions to secure non-government and government funding.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Communities, this role works collaboratively across WAGEC, helping teams to stay up-to-date on opportunities and grant coordination. The Grants and Philanthropy Coordinator will also help to identify new grant opportunities, keep key internal and external stakeholders informed and ensure tracking of current grants.

The role will support the coordination of WAGECs Funding Hub, ensuring all submissions align with program needs and meet funding requirements. This is a part-time, permanent role, with options to work 3 or 4 days per week.

The core responsibilities of the role are:

  • Grant writing and submissions - write high-quality, persuasive grant applications and funding proposals, working closely with internal stakeholders
  • Grant coordination and compliance - manage the full lifecycle of funding applications, including tracking deadlines, ensuring compliance with WAGEC’s ethical guidelines and funder requirements, and coordinating submissions across teams.
  • Grant reporting and acquittals - prepare timely financial reports, program outcomes, and acquittal reports for funders
  • Collaboration and cross-departmental work - work across teams to ensure applications reflect program needs and keep all stakeholders up to date
  • Research and funding opportunities - identify new opportunities, trends and sector developments.
  • WAGEC culture - model WAGEC values, ethics and leadership to proactively contribute to WAGEC's overall culture and impact.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in grant writing and submitting funding proposals, with excellent written communication skills and a solid financial understanding of budgets and reporting
  • You have experience working collaboratively across cross-functional and diverse teams
  • You are skilled in technology and systems coordination, able to implement and use various tech platforms to organise, report and communicate effectively
  • You'll have strong attention to detail, a curious mind for research and opportunities, and a calmness and maturity to manage multiple projects with deadlines
  • Familiarity with the domestic violence, homelessness, and/or women’s services sectors, especially in relation to funding trends and opportunities, would be highly regarded.
